Dolores O'Riordan was born 6 September 1971 in Ballybricken, Ireland to parents Terence and Eileen O'Riordan. On January 15, 2018 Delores was found drowned in the bathtub of her London hotel room. She is survived by her mother Eileen six siblings Terence, Brendan, Donal, PJ, Joseph, and Angela four children sons Taylor and Donnie daughters Molly and Dakota. O'Riordan received a public reposing at St Joseph's Church, in the Treaty City. She was then interred at Caherelly Cemetery in Limerick, Ireland.
When O'Riordan was growing up she studied classical piano and sang in the local church. When she was 17, she taught herself guitar. In 1990,
Dolores O'Riordan answered an advertisement from a local band in search of a singer. At the time O'Riordan auditioned and was hired the band was named The Cranberry Saw Us. The band eventually changed its name to the Cranberries. The Cranberries would go on to sell over 40 million albums worldwide.
On January 15, 2018 a member of the housekeeping staff found O'Riordan submerged in the bath in her London hotel room. At an inquest in Westminster Coroner's Court on September 6, 2018 ruled that O'Riordan died as a result of accidental drowning in a bathtub, following sedation by alcohol intoxication. The coroner, Dr Shirley Radcliffe, stated: "There's no evidence that this was anything other than an accident. There was no intention, this seems to be solely a tragic accident."
